Wanda Johnson
Wanda Johnson
Wanda Johnson, born in 1963 in the South Carolina 'Piedmont' region, is a sparkling addition to the deep Southern blues & roots tradition. Wanda hails from a large family (one of nine children...all girls) in a farming community. Wanda is a gifted singer (and natural songwriter) whose charisma comes through loud & clear.
Performing semi-pro since the early 1990s, Wanda is quickly gaining notoriety as a new star on the international scene. She sings with conviction and great emotion and has become known for her ability to connect with an audience. In addition, she writes much of her music.
With various overseas tours under her belt, numerous USA festival appearances (including Chicago, Poconos, and more), and three CDs in worldwide distribution ("Call Me Miss Wanda", "Natural Resource", and "Hold What You Got"), Wanda is a bright new face on the global blues scene.
