Closing in on the Liaodong Province --- In 2009, an additional 180 miles of previously undetected portions of the Wall, built during the Ming Dynasty, were discovered. My own personal experience on the Wall makes me believe that with the remoteness of the Wall and its steady rate of disappearance back into the earth, there are many stretches of the Wall that are gone and will never be known or discovered.
